Hey this is a great app for makin short tunes. I'm pretty sure it was made for making music though, so all of you who Just made designs and posted the code saying it's a good song, you could make it a lot better by mixing it up a bit. Everyone can draw an x, a w, and an o.

The best music making app ever! It's so fun, but I'd suggest having users make accounts, and uploading songs to your account, and viewing accounts and songs. One cool thing, if you turn Wi-Fi off, you turn ads off.

I really love this, I always dink around with it right before I go to bed. It's so much fun to try and come up with something that actually sounds good or makes musical sense.
The online sharing thing I like a lot, but I think it could be organized a little better. Maybe have an author tag or something so if you like aomeones thing you could check out their other stuff.

Addictive, fun, soothing.
It only took a few seconds to master the control model, and from there I lost nearly twenty minutes in twinkly, soothing grooves. Relaxing, fun, and makes you think about music in a new way.

This is a great app for when your bored. I dont have the paid version but this 1 is great. It gives me somthing to
do when Im bored. If your not good with music you can still mess around with this. Im not geting the paid version because this is all I need.

I would without a doubt purchase the pro version if it added the ability to change key signatures, and multiple layers that could be muted and adjusted live! BPM adjustment would rock too. Quick! Do it before another app author beats you to it!

Great app for musicans
I just love messings around with this application, because it is so fun to just play around and see what sounds I can create. I wish there was more then one "tone" available, but glad the small delay at the end has been fixed.
Fun, but...
The tones near the bottom of the scale not only get deeper but also quieter making the lowest tones nearly silent even at max volume. This rendered the app incapable of generating anything approaching a harmony. Unfortunate to say the least.

TonePad is awesome. If you are into making quirky experimental music, get it! That being said, however, I hope the creators are listening. (They seem fairly receptive to user requests; removing ads from the paid version and fixing a gap at the end of the loop.) I know the idea is simplicity, but it would be cool to see an advanced mode full of more features. Right now, there isn't a single app on the app store that can rival the experience of having a $999.00 Yamaha Tenori-On... but there is no reason for there not to be. TonePad could be so much more. That being said, you won't feel let down by the download. The fun is there in its simple current form... But let's hope TonePad can evolve into something revolutionary. :)

Not gonna lie.
This is a really cool concept! Sounds great, easy to use, and kinda fun. It would be rad if you could mix diff beats on top of your loops to create songs. Pretty sweet though!

Had a party with balloonshad snaks sandwitchs had bbj's than I sat everyone down show everybody this app pass it around told noone to drop it and if they did they be buyin me a new one anyway back to the app evertone loved it they could ot wait to get an itouch its so much better than an iphony! That's right itouch is better so they play and made notes some of the people saved the ones they made only the neat ones after the food was gone everyone thank me for bringing them over as they left everyone got a balloon and left

Great Fun
I was hooked on the ToneMatrix, and was ecstatic to find something like it for the iPhone/Touch! It's endless, simple fun. The design meshes well with the touch screen. The "notes" can be a bit small, and sometimes I hit the wrong one, but it's not too bad...Certainly better than having fewer, larger notes.

Agreed, the update screwed everything up
The program was great until the update caused a pause between measures. Was this intended? Is this supposed to give us an incentive to upgrade to the pro version? I'd pay money for the pro version if it 1) The pitches of the notes could be arbitrarily set 2) The tempo could be adjusted 3) Don't allow the iPod/iPhone to suspend during the program 4) Add different synths. Until these features are added and I buy the pro one, please roll back the crippling "update."
Bad update
Ahhhh shoot, you went and messed with a good thing. Before, the continuous loop allowed me to practice syncopated rhythms with my drum kit in 4/4 time. But now that you added a measure of rest, I can only practice in 5/4! Let this be an option that can be toggled on and off. And for God sake, add a BPM (beats per minute) feature. I'll even give you $.99 for that if you want to build it in to the new Apple program.

Why didn't they just put it to be optional in the first place?
But no they have to make us sit here and wait for the next update which will allow us to do that.

I tried to put it as a ringtone but when I emailthe file to myself it saved as a QuickTime format and won't play on iTunes. I can't add it to the library or playlist and can't make it a ringtone!! Help
Needs work
Three things that bother me:
1. Too much reverb on each note.
2. It does not play seamlessly through the end back to the beginning. This messes up any kind of beat you try to establish.
3. Volume is way too low. I can't even hear some notes with the volume turned all the way up.

Great but one thing...
You need to make the delay at the end of the notes optional, so you cman have it or not. That way I can have all of my saved songes that had a beat back to normal. Other than that, this app Is very fun and entertaining.
