"Aha Mobile: the interactive traffic app that won’t kill you."

“Finally an app with a well thought out user interface for distracted drivers.”
Jeff Scott – 148Apps.com
-----------------------------------------
Want to quickly know what the current traffic is on the roads you take most often? Already on the road, stuck in traffic, and want to know if you should stick it out or bail at the next exit? Aha not only creates a custom audio channel for you with relevant traffic reports from best-in-class providers INRIX and Clear Channel, but also for the first time lets you hear from other drivers what they are currently seeing out of their windows.
Let us know you are hungry, need coffee, or even need a bathroom, and we’ll continuously search for the best results ahead of you based on your previously set preferences.
Frustrated at another driver, want the world to know how well you can sing, or just want to share? Leave a shout in one of our shoutrooms and listen to those from other drivers.
Aha is not a navigation application, but is instead designed for the other 95+% of the time when you know where you are going but need more information about the roads and world around you.
FEATURES:
• Unique “65MPH” interface providing key information that can be reviewed at a glance (with large consistent touch areas)
• Personalized traffic reports created from both fellow drivers and the best industry sources
• Quickly see traffic flow and travel time for roads you care about, without trying to read a zoomed out map with tiny colored lines (which we hope no one does while driving…)
• Hungry? Need coffee? Get an alert when you are approaching a restaurant or coffee shop that meets your specifications
• Need a bathroom? Let us know and we’ll alert you to the closest one ahead.
• Receive warnings as you approach speed and red light cameras
• Satisfy your inner idol in the national Caraoke room
• Safely vent about the bad drivers around you in the bad driver shout room
• Report congestion or accidents to help your fellow drivers
• Uses user generated content plus data from industry leaders INRIX, Clear Channel, Yelp!, SitOrSquat, and PhotoEnforced with our unique 65MPH interface.
Aha is currently optimized for several cities and metro areas around the country. Supported areas include: San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington DC metro, Seattle, Dallas, San Antonio, and Miami. We are continuing to add more areas every week.

Food Coffee Restroom Info Sparse
by Bruer on September 30, 2009
Idownloaded this app because I thought the options to find nearby food, coffee, or restrooms would be useful. But from my home location, none of these options gives any useful information. The iphone Yelp app gives 8 good coffee shops within a mile of my home. I doubt if I will be using this app.
Very useful!

It just took a moment to setup the app so that it knew my typical workday drive, and now I can see my entire commute's traffic report in one simple screen. It also guesses my current direction pretty well in order to give me suggested traffic info. I'm also a big fan of listening to other people's caraoke shouts :) Who knew there were so many entertaining people out there with terrible voices?
So I would definitely say give it a try, and take a moment to figure out how to customize the application to meet your needs.
Great idea but!!!!!!!!!!!

Freez up the phone and I had to remove .
It appears that it doesn't work, but it actually does.
by iAnon OS 3.1 on September 15, 2009
For those that have already reviewed and panned this app because it doesn't work because of a "registration error," you are half right. The app does in fact work. I just installed it and it works. When the app tells you, "Registration Error/E-mail Address Invalid" (or something like that), during the sign-up, what it REALLY means to say is, "USERNAME error: This field cannot contain special characters or spaces". Someone fix this.
For example:
If you choose "Bad Driver!!" as your Aha username, and fill out all of the other boxes for 'e-mail address', 'password', and 'password verify' correctly, you will still get the "REGISTRATION ERROR: EMAIL INVALID" error message (or something to that effect).
But if you change the username to "BadDriver" (and leave your same exact e-mail address that you typed out the first time before you got the error message), the app will register you successfully and install correctly, etc. etc.

Well just loaded app and when I log in it tells me I have wrong user ID/password. Neither are wrong so to avoid getting frustrated I deleted it.
Great Concept Poor Execution

This is a great idea and when it works it gives a great deal of local information for my daily commute, however what kills it is the constant crashing, and the difficulty figuring out how to get around in the app. The latter I could figure out in time but not if it keeps crashing, I used it yesterday for a 10 minute commute and it crashed 6 times in that trip, making it unusable. It's a shame because it has real potential.

I found this app to be doubly unfortunate: slow and unstable. Perhaps an updated version will be worth buying, but I wasn't even able to get the application functioning. It was deleted in frustration after ten minutes of trying to create an account with no response from the program or their servers, between intermittent program crashes.
Great idea, but ...

Hate to knock a free application. Probably through no fault of the developer, I had repeated problems connecting to the server (Dallas-Fort Worth area). If you can't get the information when and where you need it, it is basically worthless.
Cool, fun app!
by NaviGadgets on August 19, 2009
Downloaded and used Aha on my commute home last night and this morning. Takes a little time to navigate/understand the app UI, however I like the 'shouts' and traffic roadbots. The travel time for both of my commutes was surprisingly accurate. Also, the 'Nearby' feature is cool; it nailed the best sushi restaurants in my area.
Great for Traffic and Fun!

Aha gives you a feel of your local freeways. It also allways you to get feedback from your fellow drivers. You can vent about the bad drivers you share the road with or sing your heart put for everyone to hear. I think this is a must have program. For the price you can't go wrong!

A must have app. Useful. Works. Right on. The more you use it. The better it gets.
All in one app for the busy commuter
by jelleyhead on August 07, 2009
Do you want to see what your commute is going to be like at a glance?
Do you need a coffee boost, but are not sure where to go?
Commute too long and need to find a place to "go"?
Do you just feel like singing?
If you answered yes, then this all-in-one app is perfect for you.
It takes just a few moments to set up your route and preferences and you're off to the races.
They developers have managed to pack a ton of fun in a small package. You can shout your own observations to other users. You can be an American Idol without the stress of being judged. Or, you can warn others of the distracted driver who just cut you off.
I really love this app and you will as well.
Well done application

Killer app that makes your drive more intelligent, more safe & more fun
by djwhelan on August 06, 2009
I think the title says it all. This is a creative, well-designed, and extremely clear app with a single purpose: improving the time that many of us spend in the car, whether commuting, road-tripping, or exploring a new location. The elegant design puts critical information at your fingertips, making Aha easy and safe to use while driving. Having previewed this app for a few months before launch, I can attest to the quality and thoroughness that has gone into its development. I think this is a five-star app out of the box, and I know that there are some enhancements coming soon that will continue to raise the bar. Simply put, this is a front-page app that you will use on a daily basis.
Audio traffic is great!

Roadbot rocks! I can see myself using the Nearby search for lunch restaurants and coffee shops.
